Today's colored pencil drawing is inspired by a photo and article in yesterday's Minneapolis Star Tribune about the efforts to rebuild the bear population in Minnesota by limiting the number of permits to hunt them.

Another giraffe today! This one is drawn in pencil on scratch paper during break time at work, inspired by the cover of my current read, 'Circling the Sun.' If you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend it.

I can't believe how quickly August has gone by! Just a few more days left of National Art Making Month. I hope to keep drawing and coloring after the month is over, and I'll keep posting pictures here, if anybody wants to see them. :-)

Today's picture was inspired by a co-workers calendar, which has a baby animals theme. August's picture is a fawn hiding in the tall grass, which I've admired all month. I finally got around to drawing it today, and maybe I'll give the picture to co-worker Beth tomorrow, if she wants it. :-)
